GYPSUM POWDER

GYPSUM POWDER

Gypsum powder is a naturally occurring mineral that can be found in deposits all throughout the United States. It starts out as a soft, white mineral rock that is ground into a dry powder. Gypsum powder is mostly utilised in construction materials such as drywall, but it can also be used as a soil fertiliser and conditioner in agriculture.

The mineral calcium sulphate, which has the chemical formula CaSO4, is known as gypsum. Gypsum is commonly found in its natural state as hydrated calcium sulphate (CaSO4.2H20), which has a chemical formula of CaSO4.2H20. Gypsum is a soft mineral with translucent crystals that normally appears white or grey. Gypsum deposits can be found as silt in previously flooded areas. When rock gypsum is heated, the water molecules bound to it are released, and anhydrous gypsum, a dry powder, results.
